Hello all. Suppose A and B are playing a game of backgammon. One of A's pieces is captured, and there's no empty square or a square occupied by another of A's pieces through which the captured piece may reenter the board. In such a scenario, A doesn't roll the dice because logically it has no effect whatsoever on the course of the game. I think it would be a good idea for A to have their turn skipped as long as the captured piece has no chance of reentering the board. In this situation, B rolls the dice without interruption until a square is freed for A's captured piece to reenter the board. I think Giving A the chance to roll the dice while logically there's no chance for their captured piece to reenter the board is just a waste of time. Hope I've been able to get my message across.
Cheers.
