1. codbro,

Here are the detailed rules. Overview:

  1. Each player takes on the role of a hero exploring the city of Baldur's Gate.
  2. As they explore, they will uncover new rooms, items, and events.
  3. Eventually, a haunt will be triggered, and one player will become the traitor, turning against the rest of the group.
  4. The remaining players must work together to defeat the traitor and save Baldur's Gate.
  5. Game Setup:
  6. Place the game board in the center of the table.
  7. Shuffle the stack of room tiles and place them face-down in the designated area on the board.
  8. Shuffle the stack of event cards and place them face-down in the designated area on the board.
  9. Shuffle the stack of item cards and place them face-down in the designated area on the board.
  10. Each player chooses a hero and takes the corresponding hero token, character card, and miniature figure.
  11. Each player places their hero token on the starting tile on the board.
  12. Shuffle the stack of haunt cards and randomly select one card, but do not reveal it yet.
  13. Gameplay:
  14. Each turn, the active player can take up to three actions. Actions include moving to an adjacent tile, discovering a new tile, picking up an item, trading items with another player, or using a special ability.
  15. When a player discovers a new tile, they draw a room tile and place it on an empty space adjacent to their current tile.
  16. If a player draws an event card, they must follow the instructions on the card.
  17. If a player picks up an item card, they add it to their hand. Each player can only carry up to three items at a time.
  18. If a player uses a special ability, they follow the instructions on their character card.
  19. When a haunt is triggered, the traitor is determined by the instructions on the haunt card. The traitor takes the corresponding traitor token and leaves the room.
  20. The remaining players read the corresponding scenario in the Traitor's Tome, which details the rules for the remainder of the game.
  21. Cards:
  22. Room tiles: There are many different room tiles, each with a unique name and layout. Some rooms have special effects, such as allowing players to draw item or event cards.
  23. Event cards: There are many different event cards, each with a unique name and effect. Events can be positive, negative, or neutral for the player who draws the card.
  24. Item cards: There are many different item cards, each with a unique name and effect. Items can provide bonuses to the player who carries them, such as additional speed or combat dice.
  25. Character cards: There are many different character cards, each representing a hero in the game. Each character has a unique ability and stats, such as speed and might.
  26. Traitor tokens: There is one traitor token, which is used to indicate which player has become the traitor.
  27. Haunt cards: There are many different haunt cards, each with a unique name and effect. Haunt cards trigger the second phase of the game, where one player becomes the traitor and the others must work together to defeat them.
  28. Traitor's Tome: This book contains the scenarios for each possible haunt, as well as the rules for the traitor and the remaining players during the second phase of the game.
