1. SIFRA,

Hello friends,
As a big Monopoly fan and proud Indian, I think it would be amazing to have an Indian-themed Monopoly board! A version that celebrates India's culture, cities, and landmarks would add a fun twist to the game.
Imagine properties like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, along with famous landmarks like the Taj Mahal and Gateway of India.
Using Indian Rupees would give it a local feel.
How fun would it be to have Chance and Community Chest cards based on Indian festivals and local events?
I believe an Indian Monopoly Board would connect with millions of players in India and offer something fresh for everyone. I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

2. supertrend11,

That's a fantastic idea! I completely agree – having an Indian-themed Monopoly board would be a unique way to celebrate the diversity of our country. It could even feature properties from smaller but culturally significant cities like Pune, which has a rich history and vibrant cultural scene. Imagine buying and developing landmarks like Shaniwar Wada or Fergusson College on the board!
Using Indian festivals for Chance and Community Chest cards would make it even more relatable and engaging. I’d love to see this concept implemented in Pune and across India, as it would not only bring families and friends together but also introduce a fun way to learn about different regions and cultures within the country. Let's hope a version like this comes to life soon!

3. severus_snape,

wonderful idea. I was thinking about it in the past as well, but thanks for raising it as a discussion which I couldn't do at that point of time. it will be nice to have an indian board with famous cities, and states including. specially playing with indian currency would make you feel more special. as the above discussion concerned we have so many states, cities which can be added even including Hyderabad as well. I too love to wait to see an indian board in the game options. it is such a tremendrous moment if it really comes to life! I hope that will be implemented soon. thanks. 😎

4. Nikola,

Hello,
if you want, you can collaborate and create an Indian board. To find out the sintax to use, visit the FAQ and look at the heading "I have a suggestion for a new monopoly board."

Note that the game doesn't support any kind of custom chance/community chest cards, they are the same for all boards. The square names are customizable.

Once your board is ready, send it via the contact page and it will be included.

Thanks for your work.

8. godfather,

Hi all,
While working on the board we had one question:
How does the system decide which colors each property we place is and thus decide property, house and hotel prises? Is there a sequence? I know in normal board blue is usually the most expensive and then there is an order, in the 12 country board many more expensive colors are there, does the system automatically determine these params on the bases of number of squares and such? Asking because we'd of course like to be able to determine which of the property should be expensive which not, and so if we need to for example place them on the board in a particular sequence we'd like to know about it.

9. Nikola,

Hello,
it's exactly as you said, the system automatically determines the colors and prices depending on the number of squares, their order and the multiplier specified.

You can for example create a Monopoly table, select any 40 or 60 squares board (American for the first example, or 12 nations for the second one), start the game and press Shift+D to view the complete board in the correct order along with the colors, this will give you an idea of the order to follow.

10. godfather,

Ok so basically if we understand this correctly:
Based on the number of squares, a number is fixed e.g. stations, free parking, chance, jail. For 60 that's 16 and smaller for 40.
Then we have the rest to work with, again taking example of 60 44. Out of this we can make a number of properties with houses, and rest will be public (stations, airports, public places). Then the remaining 16 will always be fixed and can be neither customized in terms of square names nor the number of their occurrences (fp, chance, jail)?

11. Nikola,

Based on the number of squares, a number is fixed e.g. stations, free parking, chance, jail. For 60 that's 16 and smaller for 40.

Note that we reach the number 16 only by counting properties that can't be purchased (start square, community and chance cards, jail squares, zone without cars)... If we add stations here, that's no longer correct, but otherwise you are right.

You can customize the name of every square on the board, by adding local names (for example the name of the most known jail in your country, or just the word jail itself in the language). If you take a look at some other boards, you can see that the square 11 is "Jail, just visiting" in English, but it's "Prison, simple visite" in French, and so on, for every square including chance, community cards, tax squares, or even the starting square. As said, if something remains unclear, take a look at a few other boards available in the game. Let me know in case it would be useful to send another custom board.

13. godfather,

Hi first of all thanks a lot for those tips, very helpful.
If it's not too much trouble I think the whole team would over all benefit from the custom board, we are pretty close to getting it if we haven't gotten a handle on it already however it always helps to make 100% sure to prevent messing up or making the board not look the way we'd like it to. Therefore, if you could send that over we'd be very appreciative.
