5. Sevrior,

Rules:

1:
For any game to be considered valid for the tournament, a fifth person must be present in spectator mode, to verify the scores that are to be posted after completion of the game. These spectators will include:
Sevrior
Mayank
Sektor

Other spectators may be added or requested to spectate by one of the above at a later time.

2:
The score limit for each game must be 500.

3:
In the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship, it is requested that players refrain from communicating with their teammates via private messaging during the progress of a game. This is because Jass is intended as a nonverbal game, with much of the strategy being understanding one's teammates and keeping track of the cards in play. This is not enforceable, however, we ask that players adhere to this policy and play the game as it was intended.

4:
Should there be any dispute, complaint or unforeseen complication raised by a member of a game, the issue must be presented to Sevrior, Mayank or Sektor, or failing that posted in this thread, within 15 minutes of the game's ending. This is to prevent disputes about scoring, fairness or anything else from being raised arbitrarily after the tournament concludes.

Regarding spectators:
Whomever is spectating a game must then post the scores to this thread as soon as possible, or inform Sevrior, Mayank or Sektor of the score for both teams. . This is so that we may keep track of scores reliably and without confusion. I will maintain a running post that I will edit with each new score update, in order to provide conclusive numbers.

We also ask that should any player log into the playroom during the tournament time slots, they then report to either Sevrior, Mayank or Sektor. We will then ensure things move as smoothly as possible.

The tournament shall be conducted over a period of days. Every day, there shall be two 4 hour time slots in which games will be conducted, and in which spectators will be online to observe and record scores. These time slots are:
8:00 to 12:00 gmt
and
20:00 to 0:00 gmt
Below is a link to assist you in converting your time zone to gmt standard, so that you are aware of when the slots are.
http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.in/gmt-converter/

Tomorrow, Saturday, 1st of June, we shall use only the second slot, 20:00 to 0:00 gmt. During this time slot, matchups will be made on the spot based on which teams log in. Following this, starting with time slot number 1, 8:00 to 12:00 gmt on Sunday, the 2 of June, matchups will be made on this thread based on who still needs to play for the first bracket. If a matchup is made, and is not conducive with someone's schedule, please post here to let us know that rescheduling is necessary. In that vein, please monitor this thread frequently to be aware of changes, happenings and matchups.

Thank you and good luck to all.

6. Mayank ,

This is the final list of the teams. The entries are now closed, and the tournament is going to start tomorrow. for rules and time, refer to the post above.

players (paired):
estrella-guliwer,
mistborn-silly_soda_mommy,
mayank-Sevrior,
sektor-creesha,
freespirit-desire,
whatcanusay-Marinaamir,
dave-eenie,
nada22-lucky-cat,
Phillis-mary24,
badgirl-flower17 .

number of players: 20
number of teams: 10.

The format for the tournament is as follows:

The tournament shall be broken into two brackets.
The first bracket will consist of 5 teams competing against 5 teams. This is an elimination round, meaning the 5 teams that lose are removed from the tournament. Each team will only play one game for this bracket.

This leaves 5 teams, which begins the second bracket.
In the second bracket, every team shall play all other teams. For example, team 1 shall compete against team 2, team 3, team 4 and team 5.
In total, each team shall play a total of 4 games in the second bracket.

The score of each team in each game in the second bracket shall be recorded, and then added up to make a total score at the end of the tournament. For example, if team 1 wins 2 games, earning 500 points each for a score of 1000, followed by losing two games with 300 and 400 points. all these scores after being added would give team 1 a total score of (500+500+400+300). =1700.
The rankings for the tournament will be decided based upon total scores. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament is the winner.

note: this means that even if a team loses a game, losing with very few points is far worse than losing after, for instance, scoring 490 points, and a loss does not necessarily mean a team is out of the running for first place.

Do keep this in mind as you play, and good luck.
