We would like to congratulate Cristina-Ioana & Aurel on becoming the 2016 Belote Tournament champions. They are worthy winners of the competition after coming back from the jaws of defeat in 2 very hard fought battles, where only the optimist would give them any chance of victory. the final was the traditional game of 2 halves, Basket & The-Raven took a substantial lead as they did in the Semi-final as they swept all before them in the early part of the evening but on this occasion lightning was not going to strike twice. Basket & The-Raven reached a total of 887 points meaning they needed a further 313 points to win the final, while Cristina-Ioana & Aurel obtained a total of 409 points meaning they required a further 791 points to win. We adjourn the final as The-Raven was unable to complete the final in time as she had a long distance to travel. We had all agreed to play the final the next day when everybody else was available.
We resumed the final at 15:00 uk time and fortunately there was no issues with the table. Rolls appeared to be reversed As CristinaIoana- & Aurel appeared to take the bull by the horns. Aurel appeared to get more clubs than Tiger Woods has had in the past 2 years and it helped his team get closer and closer to Basket & The-Raven. During the final we had 2 drawn rounds and the second of these close close encounters really changed the direction of the game. After round 14 Christina-ioana & Aurel wer finally ahead. Cristina-Ioana & Aurel had 1093 points while The-Raven & basket had 1033. Points. the game was in the balance and the result looked closer than Brexit.
Like many great boxing matches the game came to a dramatic conclusion in Round 15 when Basket & The-Raven Were unable to Make their Contract. Any team were capable of winning and both teams would have been worthy winners but the most important thing of all is we had an excellent final so we would like to thank both teams as they gave us some terific entertainment.
The final score was Cristina-Ioana: & Aurel 1350 points and Basket & The-raven 1100 points.
All there is to do now Is to thank everybody that helped to make this another successful tournament because with out everybody pulling in the right direction there would not be any tournament. I would also Like to Thank Adventure-Time and Teardrop for making this a successful tournament too because without them there would be no tournament.
