1. HeadphoneJack,

I'm interested if people here play games like we have here with actual physical cards, dice, etc. It's something I get to do semi-frequently and found quite enjoyable. Who do you play them with and which games do you play?

I mostly play card games, tablić (a Serbian game very similar to scopa) is the one I have to put up with most often because that's the one game everybody is sure to know. Dominoes for the same reason. I tried teaching some games I know to other people with varying levels of success: ninety nine was pretty successful with 2 but broke down with more players (or at least me explaining it did), fives and threes was an utter flop, jin rummy was pretty successful, and I've still got lots to try haha. I'm not usually a fan of proprietary games with special decks (not least because it's hard to get accessible versions of them) but I'd love to get my hands on exploding kittens, six takes and don't llama eventually. That's still a long way off unless I pull out my braille typewriter and do some DIY accessability kits.

Would love to hear from you all of course.

2. StormProductions,

The only time I remember playing physical cards with friends is a year ago when I played uno in real life with some friends and I was the one to win actually lol.

3. Emerald,

I play uno with family. I have the uno flip and the regular set. I would also play chess with the wooden pieces and all. Just brought apples to apples but haven’t had the chance to use it yet as would need a larger group to test it out with but I recon it’s fun. Not a fan of connect4 in person as it’s kind of really uncomfortable to try feel all the textures and holes.
Dominos is the by far the most accessible game as they naturally have raised dots for kids to play with so when I played this with a whole bunch of players didn’t feel left out or that feeling the game was adapted.
Interesting topic. Curious also to know who still plays these games

5. supanut2000,

I think I played both Monopoly and Uno in real life; both times with sighted assistance. I do have the braille version of both Uno and Monopoly though; having bought them while studying for my masters in the US.

6. Athlon,

I ply scrabble with family. also i have played a lot of games with braille 52 card decks such as spades and go fish. My mom also had an accessible chessboard, so I took it to my school's chess club and played chess there. pretty neat!

7. Fawaz,

I also do play especially with blind friends, Uno is my least favorite, my top would be scopa then 99 if the group is big.
