I have been problems with games freezing up since we have to switch to the unsecure server. Does anyone know how to fix this or when it will be fixed? Also, does anyone know when we will be able to switch back to the secure server of the gameroom?

Hello,
the first topic in the announcements and information section has more detailed description of the issue. In short, the secure connection will remain unavailable until the next client update, 3.0 beta in this case.
However, this shouldn't cause any freezes, since it's only an unencrypted connection. I suppose your issue is just an unrelated coincidence, though the server was having a few downtimes and issues with the hosting provider recently.
